Job Overview - Senior Accountant (Temporary) Compensation: $30 - $45/hour Location: New York, NY Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid) Atlantic Group is hiring a Senior Accountant (Temporary) in New York, NY for our client, supporting accounting operations, financial reporting, and general ledger activities within a fast-paced corporate environment. This role will assist with reconciliations, month-end close, reporting functions, and day-to-day accounting support while partnering closely with finance leadership and accounting teams. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, professional, and experienced working within corporate accounting environments.
Responsibilities as the Senior Accountant: - General Ledger Support: Assist with journal entries, account reconciliations, and day-to-day accounting activities.
- Month-End Close: Support month-end and year-end close processes while ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare financial schedules, reporting packages, and supporting accounting documentation.
- Account Analysis: Analyze financial data, investigate discrepancies, and support account variance reviews.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with finance and accounting teams to support operational and reporting initiatives.
- Process & Documentation Support: Maintain accounting documentation and assist with process improvement initiatives as needed.
Qualifications for the Senior Accountant: - Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field is required.
- Experience: Prior corporate accounting, public accounting, or general ledger accounting experience is required.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of accounting principles, reconciliations, financial reporting, and month-end close processes is preferred.
- Technical Skills: NetSuite experience is required along with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Skills & Attributes: Strong communication skills, professionalism, attention to detail, analytical abilities, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment are required.
